Some of the most luxurious villas on Samui are to be found in Chaweng Noi, affectionately known as ‘Little Chaweng’ – an area just to the south of Chaweng, and one of the island’s most exclusive and sought-after locations. 

Prospective buyers are always interested to visit this area as it combines the very best of what Samui has to offer. The proximity of Chaweng guarantees that you’re just minutes away from this hedonistic epicenter of nightlife – most of the island’s bars, restaurants and night clubs are to be found here. And of course it’s home to the beach of the same name, the island’s most popular.

The bay of Chaweng consists of 5 kilometers of beautiful sand that shelve into blue waters. Think postcard perfect, but with all kinds of restaurants hidden behind the greenery that fronts the beach. Chaweng Noi sees the continuation of this same beach as well as the rocky coast that lies further south. Here there are many small coves and bays, with dramatic viewpoints just waiting to be explored.

Residents of Chaweng Noi simply drive to Chaweng for the supermarkets and malls, as well as the international hospitals. Just a little further on is Samui airport, with its easy connections to Bangkok and beyond. The proximity of such a town makes life a cinch here – everything is on tap, so to speak.

But that’s not all. Chaweng Noi, despite being so close to the island’s entertainment capital, is a microregion all of its own and is completely separate. Access is limited to a few turnings off the ring road. Once in Chaweng Noi there are no through roads to the rest of the island, so the area remains secluded. A small network of minor roads connects the valleys that make up Chaweng Noi, and the vibe is laid-back and the opposite of the busyness of nearby Chaweng. A little world apart, it’s here that discerning investors have decided to build their dream homes. 

Many of these properties seem to have stepped straight out of design magazines with beautiful Interiors matching the equally sumptuous views. Almost all these villas have a view of the sea and some are quite dramatic. It’s possible to buy a villa that directly overlooks the sea and is built on a precipice so that when you step out from the atrium onto the decking you actually feel like you’re hovering above the ocean. These kinds of views are simply unforgettable and add to the ambience of the villa. Since this area has only recently been developed almost all of the properties are new and in addition have been well looked after.

Other villas are situated a little more inland but also have wonderful views of the sea; the proximity to the ocean is very much part of the property and the life of its residents. The villas almost always face the sea directly and have infinity edge swimming pools that look towards the ocean. And since space is no problem in this area, layouts are on the generous side and there’s always plenty of room in these villas. Potential buyers are always particularly entranced by the sumptuous lounges which look out through large sliding glass windows to the views beyond. And this being the tropics, indoor and outdoor life tend to be blurred together; open those large windows and you’re sitting room and decking become one single space.
